As you may know, last year we hosted our first statewide conference which brought over 300 advocates, professionals, and community members together to address the overdose epidemic in Pennsylvania. Due to current circumstances and our continued commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our community, we have made the difficult decision to not hold our 2nd annual in-person conference that was scheduled for October 26 + 27, 2020.
While we will not see each other in person anymore this October, now more than ever we understand the need for connection and harm reduction advocacy across Pennsylvania and beyond, which is why we are excited and honored to be announcing our new, accessible, and engaging DIGITAL conference the week of October 26th in collaboration with the Iowa Harm Reduction Coalition!
Harm Reduction at the Intersection is a digital conference offering an innovative opportunity for the drug policy, criminal justice, harm reduction, substance use, and public health fields to intersect around our shared values and goals.
We hope to see you at this one of a kind experience! Please visit our conference webpage to learn more and to register.

We at the Pennsylvania Harm Reduction Coalition take the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. We are constantly monitoring the outbreak and will be following recommended measures from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the CDC to ensure the safety of our staff, advocates, and communities.
As of now, we will be postponing all in-person events, forums, meetings, and speaking engagements until further notice and we will work to bring as much content online as possible. However, we aim to resume our events beginning in May. We also take our mission to educate seriously and therefore currently have no plans to cancel our statewide conference this October.
During this time, we recognize the need to advocate for public health strategies day-to-day and in case of emergencies for our most marginalized people. No one should be left behind, especially in times of crisis. We are in contact with coalition members who are providing services to people who use drugs, and we stand ready to advocate for the people's needs as they arise. Additionally, Harm Reduction Coalition and Vital Strategies created resource guides for harm reduction during the COVID-19 outbreak.
We will continue to do our work in the community and will monitor the situation closely providing updates as needed. You can reach out to us at [email protected] if any support is needed.
